Walkman goes swimming: Wearable, waterproof Walkman WS610 series now with Bluetooth

At the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) 2014, one of world’s leading trade shows for consumer electronics and home appliances, Sony has announced a new product of it’s Sony’s Walkman NWZ 610-serie: the WS613 Walkman (4GB of built in storage, 149 Euro in Germany) and the WS615 Walkman (16GB).

This new version of Sony’s comfy headset expands on the built in storage by including Bluetooth. You can  listen to your music right from your smartphone, doing sports, for example, even swimming (waterproof down to 2 metres). So you can listen to your own tunes, Spotify, YouTube, or even the radio. And you can take handsfree calls too.

Both models can be pro-ordered right now, sale starts from mid-October.

  • A choice of 4 GB and 16 GB models, as well as a wide range of different colours
  • ‘Ring-type remote control’ that’s worn on the finger makes it easier than ever to play, pause, skip tracks and alter volume
