Just in time for Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA), one of world’s leading trade shows for consumer electronics and home appliances, German audio expert Sennheiser has released a new series of in-ear headphones. The new range is built around a new proprietary acoustic design and driver technology. Whereas the CX 1.00 and CX 3.00 models are aimed at price-conscious customers, the more expensive CX 3.00 and CX 5.00 come equipped with an integrated microphone for use with smartphones.
Pure simplicity and excellent value: This is the promise Sennheiser is making with its new CX 1.00, the most basic model of it’s new in ear headphone series. Smartphone owners should however consider the CX 2.00, which contains a 3-button remote with integrated microphone, which is either available for Apples iPhone or Android devices. Both models are available in either black or white.
Customers looking for more details and bass, the CX 3.00 is an even better option. The CX 300 II successor as Sennheiser describes them, is also available in either black and white, but also ships in a sleek red version. Just as with the CX 1.00 and CX 2.00, the CX 5.00’s only difference to its cheaper cousin is the addition of an inline 3-button remote with omni-directional microphone. (Are we the only ones wondering what happened to the CX 4.00?)
All CX headphones ship with four sizes of ear-sleeves for an optimal fit and best noise attenuation, even with lots going on around your. The microphone-equipped versions also come with a hard carry case for storage.
Sennheiser’s planning to release the new models in the fourth quarter of 2014, priced at 39 Euro for the CX 1.00, 49 Euro for both the CX 2.00 and CX 3.00 and 79 Euro for the CX 5.00.
